01. Department Manager
The Manager represents the Department. He/she is elected among the tenured professors, by the Department Council in its entirety, and holds the position for four years.
The Department Manager, who chairs the Council, is Prof. Michele Mastroianni (four-year period 2023-2027).

02. Department Council
This is the governing body chaired by the Manager. It is made up of: tenured professors, researchers, representatives of the administrative technical staff and students.

03. Department Executive Board
The Board assists the Manager in his/her duties.

The Manager, Assistant Manager and Course Chairs are automatically members. The other members will be elected by the Department Council within their respective categories.
04. Joint Teacher-Student Committee (CPDS)
Each Department (and the School, in the case of the Medical Departments) elects a Joint Teacher-Student Committee with equal number of teachers and students, where possible representatives of all the courses pertaining to the Department or School.
To guarantee impartiality, the Committee must not include the Course Chairs, Department Managers or School Chair. The Joint Committee is coordinated by a teacher selected among the committee members.
The Committee has the task of:
- ongoing monitoring of the courses provided and teaching quality, as well as student services offered by teachers and researchers
- identifying indicators to assess results of teaching
- providing opinions on the activation or cancellation of courses
- drafting an annual report.

05. Degree Course Councils
Each course has its own Council, chaired by the Course Chair and comprising: tenured professors, researchers and student representatives.
The Degree Course Council is responsible for the decisions concerning the specific didactics of the degree course.
