1. Application for admission

The Masters are permanent and recurring courses, with high educational specialisation, resulting in the end with the expected achievement of a qualification with legal value.

They can be:

• 1st level, for which the possession of a three-year degree is required as a minimum entry qualification

• 2nd level, for which the possession of a master's degree is required as a minimum entry qualification

On the Department’s Postgraduate website, you can find the list of Master’s courses offered at DISSTE.

On the UPO website you can find the complete list of Master’s offered at the University, divided into 1st and 2nd level Master’s programmes.

To apply for admission, it is recommended that you refer to the announcement published for each individual master's degree, which indicates the admission requirements, the deadlines (related to admission, publication of the ranking and enrolment), the list of documents to be attached to the application and the methods of sending.

If the announcement decree establishes that you have to apply through Portale Studente, you can find some briefs tutorials on how to subscribe on the portal and how to apply.

In general, at least the following documents must be attached to the application form:

• Academic qualifications obtained in Italy: according to current legislation, it is mandatory to self-certify the possession of qualifications to Public Administrations which cannot request/accept original certificates or copies; therefore it is necessary to send the self-declaration of achievement of the declared qualifications (diploma, degree, etc.) with an indication of the exams taken and the relative marks regarding the degree.

N.B. It is also possible to request certification of exams taken from the Secretariat of the University from which the qualification was obtained.

  • Foreign academic qualifications:
  1. original foreign qualification and transcripts complete with legalised translation;
  2. declaration of value or, as an alternative to the latter, certificate of comparability and of verification issued by CIMEA, unless otherwise indicated in the individual announcement (these documents must in any case be submitted as originals at the time of enrolment. For countries that signed the Lisbon Convention on Recognition the certificate of comparability can be replaced by the ARDI certificate. The documents must be delivered to the university exactly as they were issued by the issuing bodies, without removing any stitching or bindings. Any open/loose envelopes will not be accepted)
  • Curriculum Vitae, dated and signed. The same must contain an explicit declaration that the information contained therein is provided pursuant to and by effect of articles 46 and 47 of Presidential Decree 445/2000, as well as express reference to the processing of personal data pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 and EU Regulation 2016/679
  • double-sided scan of a valid identity document

Contemporary enrolment on another course (double enrolment)

As of academic year 2022/2023, according to Law no. 33/2022 and M.D.s 930/2022 and 933/2022, students may enrol for two separate courses simultaneously.

In the event that, in addition to being accepted to the Master’s programme, you are simultaneously enrolled in another university course of study, it is necessary to declare this using the "self-certification of simultaneous enrolment in another course" form, here attached.

Application to attend as auditor

Some Master's courses activated at the Department offer the possibility of enrolling as auditors, providing a possible certificate of attendance but not the Master's degree; this may occur, for example, if one does not possess the requisites required for admission to the degree.

N.B. This possibility does not extend to all courses; if it exists, it will be stated in the Rectoral Decree of establishment and activation of the Master’s degree.

If you wish to register as an auditor, you are required to specify this clearly on the admission application, using the "application form for admission for auditors" and attaching all the documentation requested in the D.R. of establishment and activation of the Master’s, including the "substitute declaration for auditors" and the "Privacy Policy for the Master’s".
