Internships

All students of the Department can pursue an "internship", for a maximum of 12 months during their university studies.

There are two types of internship:

  • Work-oriented internship (job placement): even if your course of study does not include, among the training activities, a period of hours to be carried out on an internship, you can – actually, you are encouraged - to take advantage of an internship opportunity. In that case, you will do a "work-oriented internship".
  • Curricular internship: if your course of study includes, among the training activities, a period of hours to be carried out in internship, then we are referring to an "internship or curricular internship". This, if consistent with the course of study you followed, is used to verify and expand some of the themes dealt with theoretically in class and to guide your future career choices. In this case the "compulsory" hours will be deducted from the initial 12 months. The remaining period can be used for additional experiences. The curricular internship, as a rule, is unpaid, but the activities carried out can be worth credits and be included in the student and professional curriculum.

The internship / placement does not constitute a contract of employment.

The internship can be carried out in companies or organizations already affiliated. You can also indicate to the Disum Internship Office new companies or organizations not yet affiliated with which you would like to carry out the internship. After verifying the coherency of the internship with the study programme, the Office will implement an agreement with these operators.

A training and orientation project, prepared by the promoter, must be attached to the signing of a new partnership agreement between the University (Department) and the company. This project must indicate: objectives and methods of carrying out the internship, names of the tutors appointed by the promoter (organizational tutor and scientific tutor) and of the company manager, the details of the insurance, duration and period of the internship, and industry sector.

To discover all the internship opportunities, see INTERNSHIP notices on the Disum website.

You can also complete an internship abroad: see the University website
