Interdepartmental Centre of American and Euro-American Studies "Piero Bairati"

The "Piero Bairati" Interdepartmental Centre for American and Euro-American Studies, bearing the name of a talented American Studies scholar from Turin, was founded in Turin in 1991 and brings together specialists from the United States and Canada present at the University of Turin in the fields of Humanities, History and Social Sciences, and Economics, with particular focus on Euro-American comparison. The Centre was created by the joint effort of various Departments of this University

The aims of the Centre are: to promote interdisciplinary research within our University and in cooperation with other Italian, European and North American universities and research centres, to promote the international exchange of American Studies scholars both for research and teaching purposes, to organise conferences and seminars, coordinate the acquisition of scientific material relating to the United States and Canada at the University of Turin, provide information and updates on work on North American affairs for the public and interested bodies.
